RESET

A 9-minute cyberpunk collage created for Australian Centre of the Moving Image (ACMI)’s exhibition The Future & Other Fictions.

This essayistic collage work explores the cinematic world of cyberpunk, from sprawling dystopian megacities to the digital playground of cyberspace.

“Hugely enjoyable… Showing recurrent tropes (body modification, ‘jacking in’) and repeated pieces of dialogue (like, “When I was I child I thought as a child…”), the essay shows the ways in which those films of the 1980s and 90s foresaw the Black Mirror surveillance society we’re now facing, along with the outlaw technologies and potential for resistance.” – ArtsHub
